1970 LeSabre Disc brake conversion

I have recently brought a Lesabre back from the dead and I've been looking for a disc brake conversion using factory parts. What I've been trying to source is the proper parts to do the swap. Checking rock auto, oriellys, autozone, advance auto, etc. There's so much confusion to me on precisely what I can buy (new) to be able to convert the car over to front power disc. The only other thread I've found is from about 15 years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a power drum brake car for reference.

There are several companies that have complete kits and a couple of outfits that supply some and you source the rest. Google is your friend with this. The major parts houses can only supply wear items if you're lucky.

As far as original try and find a parts yard with a complete brake system on or off a car. The first GM factory disc systems appeared in 1967 however 67 & 68 used a non floating 4 piston caliper that had a tendency to seize up. Starting in 1969 the single piston floating calipers replaced them and were in use into the 90's.

Sourcing original spindles will be the hardest part but there are conversion brackets for drum spindles which is the best bet in my opinion if your spindles are good. I've done several conversions and next to adding 150hp it's an instantly noticeable improvement.

PARTS NEEDED:
Rotors
Wheel bearings and Seals
DISC BRAKE BEARING GREASE higher operating temperature than drum grease
Disc Brake Power booster
Disc Master cylinder
Spindles/Conversion brackets
Backing plates
Calipers
Caliper hoses
Caliper hose mounting brackets
Hard lines for converting
Proportioning valve
All bolts and clamps
Brake fluid
Brake pads

1970 Cadillac or Oldsmobile will work. both those have the steering components behind the front wheels and the lug patterns are the same as the Buick as well. i was going to do it on my 70 lesabre convert but i don't drive it enough to justify the cost or labor. hope this info can help you. ken
