1967 Buick Special seat buttons

The only buttons I am familiar with are the seat release buttons, perhaps you should post a picture?
 
Ken, I think you are looking for the decorative buttons attached to the seat upholstery. The part numbers are different for the seat bottom cushion buttons vs. the seat back buttons.

The bottom cushion button GM part nos are 7667138 thru 7667142 and 7687586 depending on color.

The seat back buttons are GM part nos 7667143 thru 7667146, 7587323, and 7699145.

The seat button retainer is part no 4547709.

These are one-year-only part nos. At least one button and the retainer show up in the listing for 67 Riviera with standard trim.

Thanks Todd, those are the ones. I just bought the black one he had, but still need another black one for
the seat area, which has the long prongs attached. Can you dye the fabric?
 
It would depend on what the color insert is made of. Dye would be preferable for woven fabric or vinyl. These materials are too flexible for paint. Paint would work better on a more rigid non-porous plastic.

I saw each vendor had a black lower cushion button no 7667138. The picture used in both ads was the same. So one guy may have been reselling the other's part. Hopefully there were two separate buttons up for sale.

It's not clear if the color insert can be removed from the button without damage. One idea would be to find a black seat back button no 7587323 and install the insert on a lower cushion button of some other color.
