1950 buick 320 engine spark plug

Help, the specs call for 46X plug. I found an AC R45X plug installed. I cannot find either one. The Local auto shop AC Delco R45S which has about a 50k longer reach into the combustion chamber. Sure don't what a plug/piston crash. Help

AC 46 vs. 46X spark plugs

Can anyone tell me if the AC 46 and the AC 46X plugs are similar enough so that either can be used in a 1951 320 Fireball 8 engine?<BR>The manual calls for 46X, but I have latched onto a set marked only with "46" on them.<BR>Any help would be appreciated.<BR>-Rich
