General Information
This vehicle arrived in New Zealand from the States in 2017 but failed it's compliance due to serious rust. I am the fourth New Zealand owner and although the car looks great on the outside underneath it is a bit of a mixed bag. All the other owners have just stored it after realising that the rust is probably a full rebuild. For now I am content to redo the carpets, seals and seats and fix all the electrics. I suspect that soon it will need to be re-stripped and the dirty and serious work needs to begin. Most of the under cross members are rusted out, but it has still been such an enjoyable project so far pottering away fixing one thing at a time. In an ideal world I would love to cut out the affected parts and have them scanned and reprinted in a metal 3D printer and welded back in, however I suspect it going to be a lot harder to achieve and in the end a very expensive project.
