I have a 64 300 alum head and intake motor in my 67 skylark.A 180 thermostat and 4 blade fan. the temp light comes on dim about 165 the car runs 180 to 200 at the thermostat. When I shut the motor down the gas perkulates and floods the engine .Should I try a 160 t stat? Carb float is set...

I bought a set of sweeps made by PUI the inners fit great but the outers dont even come close they sent me a second set and the same thing.Has any one else had this issue ? 67 skylark convertable.
