I’m restoring a 66 Buick wildcat convertible and the original engine was a 401 nailhead with matching number to the vin. The engine had a blown rod thru the block which I was going to have the hole welded up and the cylinder re-sleeved. But when I had the block x-rayed we found the oil tube...
Bad oil tube
Thanks for your help, i though about doing that because of matching number, but machine shop that tested the block found areas around the cylinder ends that showed.some hair line cracks.
They recommend scrapping block. Now I don't know if I should replace with another nail head...
I am restoring a 65 wildcat convertible. It has all the trim but the chrome is pitted. Is it cheaper to buy replacement or have re-chromed? ALSO is there any info on removing bumpers? Any help
