    1962 Buick Special

Hi Jacob I know a little about the 1963/64 V6. They were only made for a little over 2 years and have become quite rare. Some did not like the motor because the odd firing order caused it to vibrate. Also parts are hard to come by. It is however a very good powerplant (I used to race them) I...

    1962 LeSabre Trans Issue

I have seen this one. In 1960 my dad insisted that we start his Buick with a twin turbine transmission by towing it. The pump runs off the input shaft so the transmission gets no lubrication while being towed. Your problem is most likely a burned out sprag clutch on the rear output shaft...

revised engine hard to turn over

It is good to see oil on top of the pistons. When you do get it to turn over be sure to cover the spark plug hole with rags as the oil can squirt rather forcefully. It is possible to run 6 volt starters on 12 volts but there is a possibility that the starter will burn out. All auxiliary systems...

revised engine hard to turn over

The WD40 probably washed the lube off the cylinder walls. If you still cant turn it with a long breaker bar appeal to wiser heads. Good Luck Greg...

You may also take a tip from the racing guys and once you get it cranking turn it until you start to see oil pressure. I worked for a guy who believed...

    WTB 1962 or 1963 198cid v6

When I get down to it all I really need is a good block. I have found several but the 62/63 blocks were never popular and are usually in very poor condition. The correct casting number is 1349430 found on the top of the rear of the block. Thank you for helping. Maybe we should connect My e-mail...
