1955 Buick Century heavily optioned

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how many century Buick 2 door hardtops were built with Power Steering, Power Bakes, Power windows, Power seats, Power antenna and Airconditioning with the two tone color of Dover White/ Callaway Green/Dover White?
Mike
This is my car and I am wondering how many others were built with these options and color scheme.

Can't match your color, but same options in addition to signal seeking radio. Mine is Cadet blue/dover white/cadet blue.

Hi 322bnh
Is you car a 2 door hardtop? It appears you have a nice optioned car. I would love to see a picture of it.
What I'm trying to determine is if I have 1 of ???. Do you know where I could research to see how many cars were built with these options and color?

Sorry for the confusion. Here is a picture of the stamping. The buick is a 1955 Century and the engine is a 322 nail head. I have researched and not been able to come up with this stamping. Everything I find says it should start with a "V". Plus even if I think that the i is a miss stamp, I can't match the numbers i2408246. The 6 is hard to see but if you look at the bare photo, you can just start to make it out. If I hold a light off to the side I can make out the 6.
Any help would be appreciated. Trying to determine if I have a special performance engine or what?

What model do you have? This should be stamped on the plate. It would say 61, 63, 66R.
Is it a US or Canadian build? The serial number can be different on some models.
Please supply as much info as possible. Your plate will also give the color codes, and the interior trim.

I am also wondering what month Buick released it's 1955 models. I know that currently car manufacturers release the coming year in September of the previous year but am not sure they did that back in 1955.
Anybody with this knowledge?

Here is a picture of the Data plate. Believe that it is not a canadian car as it was built in Los Angeles

If you look here: https://www.teambuick.com/reference/ident_engine_53-58.php

What has possibly happened here is in '55 the V was dropped after some production (noted on the page above). Yours is probably one of those. The capital "I" has been substituted for the "7". Things happened. The last number is a 6 for the series which leaves the appropriate 7 numerals (if the I is interpreted as a 7) , making the number work for your car and year. 7240824-6

Thanks Bob. This has been stumping me for a while.

Would you happen to know what month they released the 55 model to the public? I have an early production car and am trying to figure out if it was produced in February or in 1954 Possibly October if the release was October. 738,814 produced /12 = about 61,567 per month my car was 83,160 in production sequence 83160/61567 = 1.35 months. That would place it in the 2nd month of production about the 2nd or 3rd week.
VIN is 6B2083160

I am not really familiar, but I am old. The cars in those days were on the lots, maybe 4 months before the production year, so they probable started coming of the assembly line 6 months before their model year.

In 55 the car serial number for the 66R started with 7B and the engine number for the 322 4barrel was V7200807.
If the car was late 55, early 56 the serial started with 7C and the engine number was 14600237.
This comes from my limited knowledge. Hope this helps

Buick started a new engine numbering sequence for the V8s in 1953. This sequence continued on through 1956.

The first '53 number was V2001x where x is a suffix digit indicating the car series. The first '55 number was V720080x. The first '56 number was 1460023x. When the one-millionth V8 was reached in '55, the V was replaced by 1. The suffix digit 6 = Century series which agrees.

We typically see I used for 1 in ID numbers. Similarly Buick would use an odd-style font on the 6 that looks like a b and a 9 that looks like a q. Presumably this cut down on tampering.

Total '55 engine production would be 1460023 - 720080 = 739,943 assuming all numbers were issued. This agrees well with total car production of 738,814.

Your engine would have been built about 70% of the way into the '55 production run.

Here is a page from a 1962 NADA Used Car Value Guide showing the '55 Buicks we're introduced in Nov. '54.

Also this heavy-duty AACA thread on '55 Buick ID numbers shows an intro date of Nov. 15.
