I\'m not giving myself points. Just an addendum:
Just took a 3AM drive after the 700R4 trans conversion and another ignition system (Jacobs Omni Torquer with Allison Conversion, and the stock coil, which I can go back to if the ultra coil in the Jacobs spark box goes. plug gap at 0.045. Runs GREAT, idle-perfect, off-idle response---incredible. The 700R4 needs some more adjustment, although it is shifting about where I want it to. The shifts are firmer, and at cruising speed the rpms do drop--so maybe MPG might improve (but on my \'73 and \'76 Riv\'s the THM-400 is the best transmission I\'ve used; it seems to know exactly where to shift)
Anyway, it was exciting to drive this cars after almost a year of storage. The electronic ignition computer takes 20 seconds to get an engine profile to set parameters, then it was smooth as silk. And no more dripping dynaflow.
I feel better, but Bentsen (the guy who does the nailhead>newer transmission) mentioned he got rid of that steel gasket below the cater AFB(GREAT!!! \'/\\\'---supposed to be a pissed-frown). It is there for a reason.... duh!
