STANDARD TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS AND CAPSCREW MARKINGS Newton-Meter has been designated as the world standard for measuring torque and will gradually replace the foot-pound and kilogram-meter torque measuring standard. When torquing bolts all threads should be clean and oiled with a light oil. SAE Grade Number 1 or 2 5 6 or 7 8 Capescrew Head Markings Manufacture's marks may vary. Three-line markings on heads below indicate SAE Grade 5.
