I have just received pictures for a Skylark that I am thinking about buying and I do not recognize the interior. The car is a base model 71' Skylark with original interior. The seats are vinyl with cloth inserts. The inserts have an 'X' stitching that is remaniscent of the Cutlass. The door panels are the same way with the 'X' stitched in vinyl above the arm rest and a button where the 'X' intersects. The car was purchased in Seattle originally. Was this an upgrade from the vinyl seat for 71'?... Is this a canadian interior?... Any help?
The car's current owner is the son of the original buyer. He doesn't seem to shed any light on this subject other than this interior came with the car.
Thanks.

Current - 71' Skylark 350-2BBl.

I think that I heard somewhere in the last year that due to some strike, there were cases of the assembly line using whatever it had available. I can't back this up, but it sounds kind of familiar.
