T stat for 52 stright eight
Hi ,
![]() I have got a t-stat problem. The Buick is a 52 special ,withe the straight 8 . I have rebuilt the top end of the engine including piston ring rods and main bearings , and have not had any problems getting the correct parts. The thermostat has posed to be a mystery. What the parts store calls for is a 2 1/2" D I orielly murry P/N 3478 . this appears to big for the housing . I replaced it with a 3358 . Ia anyone out there have any knowledge about this ? And if so what's going on ? And what is the GM P/N ? Thanks in advance

I think it take a regular GM sized thermostat. Ask for one out of a Chevy 350, 185 degree or whatever you like for temp.
