I have an engine that has not been run in a long time. Planning to start it up in a few weeks. Would like to pre-oil the engine.
So, can I use a drill in the distributor hole?

Yes. If you have an old distributor, you can cut it up and make a nice driver. Once oil starts coming out of the rockers turn the engine over until they are all oiled.![]()

Remember the straight 8 dist. turns CCW so you will need a reverseable drill motor.
what do you fellows think about draining the oil and filling the crankcase with diesel fuel for the flushing operation? I've done it before on old engines that have set up but a lot of my ideas get po-poed by more intellegent folks.
