08 / 13 / 10 Up-Date on Toby

Posted 08-14-2010 at 06:40 AM by Jim Carmichael

The new bumper was installed today and it does make the rear view look much better. I did the rear bumper first as it completes the rear and that's the view all the Ford and Chevy guys will see anyway.

08 / 12 / 10 Up-date on Toby

Posted 08-13-2010 at 06:50 AM by Jim Carmichael

The bumper that I finally recieved was perfect except it was for a Super or Roadmaster and they are 2 inches wider. I put it back on Ebay and got most of my money back. I lucked out and found another one for the same price so hope to get it installed tomorrow.

I have also been working on The Wildcat GS and it is looking much better.

Here are a few pictures:

07 / 22 / 10 Up-Date on Toby

Posted 07-23-2010 at 06:38 AM by Jim Carmichael

After 2 months of excuses and an email to EBay the rear bumper finally arrived and it actually looks very good with only one small bad spot on the bottom of one bumper guard.

A radiator overflow tank has also been added to catch any fluid that may boil out when towing. I put the new axle under the trailer with the electric brakes and it pulls very nicely and brakes just like it should.

· New Heavy Duty Radiator Core
· Rebuilt Turbo 400 Transmission
· Rebuilt 1962 Electra Rear End
· Art Morrison Triangulated 4 Link
· Monroe Rear Air Shocks
· New Drive Shaft

06 / 05 / 10 Toby Up-Date

Posted 06-05-2010 at 10:37 PM by Jim Carmichael

The new radiator from Federal Way Radiator was installed with fresh antifreeze and the car runs nice and cool. With the air conditioner turned on it will sit and idle and the temperature gauge only goes up to the high side of normal. They used a core designed for heavy duty industrial use that has nice large water passages and staggered tubes for better air flow.

The air cleaner lid was scraped with a razor blade then hand sanded. It would be too great a risk of getting the glass beads...
