I have a 66 Lesabre 2 dr HT with a L.H. front window motor that rolls down about 1/4 of the way and then stops. Makes a noise like gears not meshing. I can push it down while holding the window switch until it passes this point(about 1/2 way down) and then it rolls on down fine. I am trying to find a lazy way out. I would like to find out who\where parts may be available without disassemble check reassemble and then start hunting for replacement parts. Has anyone had these symptoms? I have been told by one person that these have some sort of belt drive and by another that it is not belt drive. Does anyone know for sure if it is a motor to transmission to regulator design or is the motor mounted directly to the regulator? Either way how about a supplier of replacement parts. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx in advance

It has a w/regulator that the motor it attaches to ( rivets) you only have to replace the w/motor . HTH:beers:

as the previous poster said it has the reg/motor you can get a replacment motor at your local autoparts store roughly about 45 dollars.
It is riveted in unless you have a large rivet gun I would go ahead and buy some nuts and bolts for it 5/16th bolts should work make sure you buy lock washers dont want to tear it apart again because the bolts are loosing up on you (havent done one in awhile) stay away from the auto recyclers never know how long the motor will last Good luck

I've worked on a couple 65 Wildcat pwr windows last year. One was lazy, I got the motor out, lubed it up and it was fine after that. The other required a different regulator since one of the rivets that held the regulator together broke. (too many NY toll booths)
These motors bolt on the regulator with 3 bolts. Bad part is reaching into the door and manipulating parts around.

Curt, I have a regulator if needed from a '66 Wildcat 2dr. hdtp. Anyone need any parts??? Not too many options. Has A/C, but no compressor.
