Hi, I have a miss at idle, can only be heard at the exhaust pipe. Runs smooth and then miss, miss, smooth, smooth, miss, etc. Not noticable really at speed, just at idle. Engine has been completely rebuilt: bored .60 over, new pistons, bearings, turned crank, cam etc.

I have talked with several members in my club and checked the obvious: new plugs, new points (gap .15), newer wires, cap, rotor. Carb rebuilt, starts great, hot or cold. Lifters are still mechanical and was told this was the problem. I've checked these over and over and set at .15, with no change. Car runs at 70-75 on highway. HELP!!! Any ideas appreciated.

Car has original 263 straight 8 with manual trans.
