hi, heres the background, bought a 65 skylark (300 4.9l v8) semi running, in other words, itd start, and run a little but die, so switched out the stock 2 barrel 325 cfm carb (there was a line coming off of the carb that had to be screwed on, but it led to nothing, well it was vroken, anyway, i think that could potentialy be the problem) for an edelbrock 600cfm four barrel, hooked it all up, same problem, runs a little and dies, cant rev it, needs starting fluid everytime, i think my timing is off, or i have a vacuum leak somewhere i cant find, any ideas as to help me diagnose the problem? is there any questions here i should have asked? is there any way to help kill the grmlins that infect my lark? anything, anything at all? my email is soulshadow@bikerider.com and my myspace sn is ratbiker thank you all for your time, if someone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated camp pendleton is cold in the morning on my bike!!

Have you verified you are actually getting fuel to the carb?

Might just be a bad fuel pump..
