My son and i Bought his first car its a 56 buick super from all the photos i have seen it dosent look like one.

Everyone that i ask about parts ask is it a nail head , century , roadmaster,

now how can i tell if its a nailhead or other type of buick.
We are very new to the world of these fine cars and cant wait till we get this thing with the idle fixed..

Also does anyone know of a shop or home machanic that is in the Inland Empire or Corona ,Riverside California area,

thanks for any help.

not to worry. assuming the car has the original engine, its a nailhead.

let me assure you, your questions are not "dumb". everyone of us contributing to this forum have accumulated knowledge over a period of time. sharing that information with others, is what this board is all about.

You have a 1956 Buick Super Riviera Coupe Model #56R.
It should have a nailhead engine: 322 cid, 255 hp, 9.5:1 cr, with a 4 bbl carburetor engine.
It has a 122 inch wheel base.
For more info contact Larry Daisey of The Buick Club of America in Riverside, CA. Phone (909) 780-9353. He can most likely find contacts for you in that area.
