Can anyone tell me what the trick is to removing the motor mount bolt behind the power steering pulley?

I have a 98 Buick Riviera (Supercharged V6) and spent hours trying to figure it out. Removed the first bolt, but can't get to the second one behind the power steering pulley.

I donot understand what your are trying to do .. the bolts that hold the power steering pump on are accessed trough the three holes in the p/s pulley HTH

I am trying to get the motor mount off (the half that is attached to the block). One bolt to this mount is located behind the power steering pulley. Although there is holes in the pulley, they do not line up to remove the motor mount bolt. Also, there is not enough room to get a wrench in there to remove the bolt with the power steering in place. I am assuming that the only way to gain access to this bolt is to first remove the power steering unit. Is this correct?

That is correct and you will need to support the eng.when you unbolt the mount bracket .HTH :beers:

How difficult is it to remove the power steering pump? I had the job down to the point of removing it Saturday, but was afraid to go any further.

You access the bolts to the P/S pump through the holes in the P/S pulley
there are three bolts ( 13mm socket or 10mm on some models ) HTH
