:wavey: Fellow Bucik Enthusiast's
I just had a E-Bay Scam E-mailed to ME. This is the 2nd time in as many weeks that this has happened to me.
It goes like this: The Item You recently bid on (Item #) has been TKO'd fro the bidding process.
The Item is nothing that you bid on in the first place and the item# is about 2 weeks overdue.
If You click on, the sign-in screen comes up:
If You Type in Your Password and Identify Yourself...They Got Your Identitiy!
For Your own protection. Think B-4 You React. :clonk:
I figured I would pass this along B-4 You get taken unfair advantage of:
Regards, :beers:

Last month I got a e-mail saying that my E-Bay account needed to updated or it would be cancelled. They had a sign in page and everything. I type in a bogus ID and it asked me to give my credit card info. I forwarded the e-mail to E-Bay they called it "spoof" mail. With in a few minutes E-Bay responded telling me it was in fact a scam and that it would be reported to law enforcement.
Thanks for the warning.

Yep! I clicked through on that link too and I didn't realize it was a scam I was getting into, but if I had looked at the url AFTER I had the page open, I would have notice the diversion from ebay.
Fortunatly I am not one of those that keeps a "cash pin" for my credit card so I could not update my info and eventually figured out that something was wrong...
If you click on that url today, the host service has removed the outfit, and you now get this page expaining what happened.

Well I got scammed today. I have my 62 invicta wagon on ebay. It hit reserve two days ago, with 4 days left. Today I was answering emails and followed the Ebay link to sign in and... Wouldnt you know it, Fake Link. Before I could put 2 and 2 together they had changed my contact info and cancelled most all of my bids along with leaving crazy explinations for cancelling. I also had to call my credit card company and notify them and I changed all my passwords today. I was at $9500 and now down to $3500 with only two days left. I reported this to ebay but by the time they respond the auction will probably be over. I'll never follow those links again! Also Ive heard of some scams with the second chance offers and the email address being changed. I hope this can help some of you avoid some major frustration. TR
