Hello,
This forum is great!
Just have a question about the A/C Compressor on my 84 Buick Skylark.
Seems that on the back of the pump, it has a single wire coming off of it. Has some sort of Bullet compression fitting. Looks to me like a over pressure or under pressure safety switch. Am I correct?
I found my A/C randomly turning off. The "Compression Fitting" was broken. (pump side) The wire (black) goes directly to the compressor clutch. So for a temporary fix I took the wire straight to ground. Is this wrong?
Everything seems to function properly.... Compressor cycles on and off perfectly.
I will, this weekend, solder a wire into the "bullet" with a quick disconnect. I'm just not comfortable bypassing safety stuff.
Any thoughts?
