I think that an E-Bay Forum would be a worthwhile and Valued Consideration>

I have picked up quite a few items (parts) myself.

A lot of people part out cars and post the items.

They are a lot cheeper than going to a salvage yard.

Of course not everything is cheeper, you have to know you prices. And that's where an E-bay Forum would be most helpfull as well as a parts resource.

I think it may be worth considering. It would give members a ' heads up ' for those items of interest, parts or cars that are listed on eBay.
The only disadvantages I can see, is inflated prices from bidding wars, if more than one person is interested in an item. (This is great for the seller, but not good for the buyers.) Also, people sometimes buy items on eBay at a reasonable price, with the intention of selling them at inflated prices, to realize a healthy profit. (It's the American/Canadian way !)
You also have a pretty fair set up for Parts / Cars in your existing format!

That would be the purpose of having the Forum.
To Inform Members on a good deals avoid bidding wars and to let the membership know what is reasonable.
For Example: I continually see over priced items. Dynaflow Transmission Mounts being offered at the stating price of 48 bucks not including shipping.
You can get the same item from a reputable vendor/supplier for 35 bucks
Just a case in point.

There are many items of value. I was able to get a complete aluminized dual exhaust system for $275.00. The Best price I was quoted by a vendor was 475.00. a 200 buck savings is nothing to sneeze at. the exhaust syste was custom made from OEM specs and fit a lot better than O.J's Glove. No modification needed. Direct bolt in! an afternoons work! Done , Finished Complete.

There are some good deals out there. We just have to know what's good and whats bad

That would be the Forums Purpose.

A lot of the vendors have multiples of the same item. One member bids on it another member bid on the item the following week.

a starter or generator can be picked up cheep 25 bucks.

A core is worth 65. It's nice to have one on the shelf when You need it.

A Lot cheeper than going to a salvage yard and all the "Rare Parts" Mentality.

(I could not find this part from ANY Vendor/Supplier)

Carb Gasket Set $4.50

And those are the items I remember off the top of my head.

i bought 4 riveria rim for my 75 lesabre, factory 8-track tape, rims for my 76 t-bird, 2 76 t- birds and many small parts for each classic

I have just pruchased a goodson 3/8 bronze guide installation kit for $51.00


I bought many items for the 430 I am working on from "Mad Dog" on ebay for much less than other suppliers.

In all I think I have made 32 purchases with only a one maybe two dissapointments. I don't blame the seller for them.

Selling would be interesting, I have looked at it, but it seems to cost to post. I don't understand how many people have little items that don't sell.

that would be the best.my 2 only sites I go to are here and e bay. so i go there all the time, lookin for misc parts along with just seeing what stuff for my 56 special go's for. I believe it would also be a learning guide with poss. cross reference abilitys for other years out there. so I would be all for it.

Things are working out for you already! I also have a '56 Special Project underway. So You already have some HELP! :thumbsup:

You can get a LOT of Good Deals, however there are some that are over-priced. Some stuff can be purchased locally. Napa, Advanced/Parts America, Auto Zone that are chhper and no shipping. Also if it is the wrong part or a bad electrical component you know where to bring it back to.

Fel-Pro still has Gaskets for our cars. Raybestos still has brakes.

Some of the trim items and other stuff can be grabbed off of E-bay. Even a quality custom dual exhaust for around 250. The best quote I got was 475.

If you need any help suggestiona or advice you know where we are.

I purchased a new coolant cross over/ Thermostat housing on ebay for my engine.

When delivered it had already been media blasted so all I had to do was prime it to keep it from rusting.

I have taken to using wood stove primer before painting, as it can withstand up to 1000 degrees

I intend to do the same thing, only I intend to get mine Chromed at Nu-Chrome in Fall River.

Bill Hirsch has a nice Hi-Temp Engine Paint as well as the Correct Nailhead Green and I think He is the only Vendor/Supplier who has it available in Spray cans.

Por-15 also makes a fine product.

Really dresses the Ole' Nailhead up pretty good!

By the Way I saw a picture of Your '55 on "Show & Shine. LQQKS My-T-Fine!

It seems that You, KMC and Iddie Makel have the same cars (4 Door Sedans)and are ALL painted White and Green.

Once I helped a guy troubleshoot the video graphics display center on the dash of his late 80's Riviera. I found for him the part number of a Buick dealership tool used to troubleshoot the video system.

Sure enough a couple of days later he located and purchased this tool on ebay for $15. My bet is nobody but him knew what it was for. The thing probably cost over $500. 20 years ago. Probably was discontinued long ago as well.

I buy all the time . Usually try to get at good price or I don't buy. I am in deep right now though. TP

just had a bad experiance on ebay, won 2 sets of keys for my 75 buick, pd thru paypal, no item, no reply to email. went to the dispute section, and they did resolve my issue. i was refunded my payment.

Have over 100 feedbacks as a buyer.....of which 99% are Buick related items. (shipping rates are killing me....)

Items lost so far (during shipping(?) ):
Convenience Center (mini console), tri-shield trunk mat and set rear lights.
