Hello Everyone,
I am trying to mount these items to a 455 and would like some photos etc. that will help me determine which pulleys are designated for each item.
The following are my thoughts, the closest pulley groove to the block on the crankshaft is for the power steering. I also think that the power steering pump mounts on the left side of the engine. The next two pulley grooves on the crankshaft and the water pump are for the AC compressor and it mounts on the right side of the engine. Now, comes the question do they use one of these two to also turn the alternator or do they use the small one on the water pump pulley to do this?
Your assistance in this matter are greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Daryl

You are on track. Except for that last groove. It was used to drive the smog pump. That is why it is so small. Hopefully, you're not worrying about a smog pump? The alternator is driven by a short belt (provides most of the power transfer) and a larger belt that also loops around the a/c.

Thanks Sergio,
No on the smog pump!

The alternator I am using only has one groove. Did the factory AC use two belts? I was not sure if they used one or two but the AC I am using uses two and I am able to use one of the AC belts to drive them both. I am not sure if I do this if the alternator will have enough grip and/or if this is an option then I am in like flint!

Thanks,
Daryl
