I have 2 65 Gran Sport convertibles that I am restoring. One grill emblem is square with gransport in it and the other resembles the 66 gransport emblem but is not the same.Could there have been two different emblems used that year?Maybe an early version and a late version?Help me on my dilemma

You have answered your own question correctly. The boxed emblem is the early style and getting very hard to find.

I remember back in Nov. 65 when Buick was introducing thier new cars to the employees. My Father worked for Buick, then later so did I.I was 15 at the time and there was a GS there that had an emblem on the lower porton the front fender just behind the tire.It looked like a badge and it read Grano Sport. It was Red with a White vinal top,White leather interior.I fell in love instantly. It was an early model and maybe they changed the name because of the heat Pontiac was taking for thier GTO name ripoff.Who Knows??
