Ok, so I bought this Toyota Land Cruiser about a year ago. (It's a mutt!) I was told it had a "66" Buick V6 in it. Didn't think much of it. I thought I would end up pulling it and putting a newer Toyota drive train it for dependability and efficiency. It's a daily driver and I can't afford for it to "guzzle".
Anyway, the little engine runs good so I don't do much to it, but replace the HUGE carb it had on it (Holley 600cfm) with a slightly smaller Holley 390cfm. Instantly had better throttle response and havent'done anything to it until now.
I jump on line with the only information I have and that is the engine block cast number (25514290) I find out the little "66" is not a little "66", but a 79-84. I'm still not sure, but the last thing I read about this cast number is it could be a "Turbo RWD"???? This is where I come to everyone here.
The more I seek out information about this engine the more I like it. I would love to stick with it, but like I said, I need dependability and efficiency. Don't be afraid to tell me like it is. Am I dreaming??? Can I fuel inject this thing so I can go rock crawling without the dreaded "fuel starving stall"? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

A Toyota with a Buick V6? Well, someone had the right idea.I don't see any reason why you could not fabricate some sort of EFI for it, but I'm sure there is not one that is bolt on, although I could be wrong. I am not sure about the cast number, but I can ask the person restoring my Wildcat Convertible, he is very knowlageable on Older Buicks, and could probably offer more information.

Jim.

I know the Kiaser Jeep used a Buick v-6 for many years in the 60's before American Motors took them over.
