Hello, i just purchased the correct supercharger, intake manifold, fuel injectors, fuel rails, and gaskets for my 1997 LeSabre Custom to supercharge 'er. If anybody has any pointers for me on how to install this bad boy or for better performance options, i would greatly appreciate your reply. Oh yeah, and do i have to get my ECU programmed, or can i replace it with a comp. out of a Park Ave. Ultra? Thanks for your time...HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

if you have not already done so, the next thing to buy is the FACTORY service manual.

is the transmission up to snuff? Does your Lesabre have the Gran Touring option for better handling now that you got the power?

shouldn't have a problem with the transmission. the supercharged 3.8s still use the 4T65E and once the new PCM is installed, it will change the shift points and firmness as necesarry.

do not do this swap if your motor was a N/A engine as it will not work

Another issue would be that the Lesabre you have probably has the 4T65E not the 4T65E HD which was used on the supercharged cars. The low end torque destroys the trannies including the HD version once you modify the L67 (supercharged) engine further. The 4T65 HD was rated to handle up to 280FT lbs of torque and that is what the supercharged engine is in stock form, not sure on the regular version, but it would be less. There are people over at www.regalgs.org (http://www.regalgs.org) and www.clubgp.com (http://www.clubgp.com) that have converted their Granprix's and Regal's to the supercharged version, but it meant swapping the whole engine and tranny in some cases, another reason it won't work is because the compression ratio is higher on the N/A motor versus the Supercharged and the internals of the blown engine were beefed up to withstand the boost. The best method would probably be to add a turbo which would give you boost after accelerating which would tend to do less harm to the tranny, you can check with this company here http://www.zzperformance.com/products1.php?id=244 they make the kit for the GP GT's and Regal LS's and Zoomer can probably let you know what is best. I just don't know if it would match up to the Lesabre or not, and that would be best answered by him!
