i have a 1977 Electra with the 403. i had just broke the timing gear on the top. and i got it fixed and in time. but now i am experincing backfireing, sputtering, and even stalling when the engine gets up to temp. graemlins/angry.gif what could be doing this, and can it be fixed easily? thanks for yall's help.

First step - check the timing.

I doubt the carb tuning changed much, so we'll leave that alone for now.

My second step would be a compression test.
