I need to order a gasket set for my 83 Buick with a 252ci v-6. I am told that there are 2 different set available. One for .552" od valve guides (newer) and one for .605" od valve guides (older). How do I know which I have without pulling the valve cover to check?

The Buick parts list indicates the .600" intake valve guides use a seal wirh a light green band. The .552" guides use an orange band. This won't help much since the cover will still have to be pulled off.
