i have a 1970 350-4 skylark, and i acquired a edelbrock q-jet 795cfm carb. it says it fits 1975-85 vehicles. i am just wondering if it will fit and work with my T/A stage1 intake, as well as what i would have to do if it does work.

This carb will almost certainly do the job, but may be a little too big for your engine. I would be tempted to go for the Holley 650 spreadbore replacement carb ( $319.95 from scoggins-dickey, #HO-9895 ). A good way to estimate your carb requirements is to use the following formula
cfm = cu.ins x max rpm divided by 3454. Of course, if your engine is heavily modded, this formula means jack. Best of luck

there are a lot of extra hoses on that one compared to mine can some of them just be blocked off?

yeah they can be. i thought the same thing. if it doesnt have a place to be plugged into on your engine you can most likely plug it. thats what i did and my cars been running better then ever. gotta love holleys...

Hi guys,

What is the CFM on a stock 1970 350-4 (non-Hi Comp)? I am looking to replace the current unit, and I need to know what my starting point is.
