Hey, i just got my intake manifold to convert my 71 to a 4 barrel. The manifold is off a '73 350. However, it' painted silver and needs a good cleaning. Does anyne know what color it should be painted, and a good way to get the paint off and clean it up. Also, where should I go to get all the odds and ends to install it the right way? Is there anything i should be careful about while I install it? Thanks for your help guys.

the best way to clean it would be to take it to a machine shop and get it hot tanked or acid washed.
it'll clean all the paint off and all the crap on the inside from being used.

If you don't have that option, some engine degreaser would do the trick. It might not cut through the paint, but it will give you a pretty lean surface.

NAPA sells a Buick Red spray paint, that looks great (especially if you have a red engine- there are a few different Buick colors but my favorite is red). Krylon also sells a paint that works.

If you totally can't find any paint, I know that TA Performance can sell you some, but you'll pay shipping charges and all that.
