hey guys...malc, shoprat,and the old guy thanks a million i dont think i could have got through this without you guys all of you gave me excellent advise, turns out that i did indeed need a new condenser which i actually guessed on, you see i went and purchased a new set of points and it all ready had the condenser on it which was a good deal, threw them in and after several attempts to start it<vrooom vrooom vroom> i let it run for about five or ten minutes an than floored it and wow did she scream love me mama love me harder. well, guys once again you were great and the web site is awesome, oh yeah one more thing i think i,m gonna take it for a long ride maybe four hundred miles or so, what oil would you recommend and is'nt there a special kind of spark plug designed for long distance driving?

if it burns a lot of oil, the thicker the oil the better. otherwise, just run what you normally do. And I usually just run the bosch super platnum plugs. They work well enough for me. I drove my buick from North Dakota to Texas.
