The down side is that if the module goes , or the pick up coil, you will need a tow home. Points can always be doctored to run long enought to get home. 71NDBUICK 03-26-2004, 11:37 AM if anything ever goes, you'd need a tow home....... I put an HEI in my 71 lark, and lemme tell ya, that's the best thing I ever did. I get better gas mileage, not that I'm going for it or anything, but it's nicer I guess, I haven't touched points since I took it out. I got mine out of a 77 lesabre with a 350. It was simple to install too. It went right in. I immediatly put a new coil and cap on it since I didn't know when the last time that was done. The best part about it is the 1 wire hook up and the 1 wire tach hookup. it's fantastic. hope this helps out your decision. monte 04-03-2004, 09:52 PM Will a chevy hei work? Got a stock 63 buick 401 with points. I have a small block chevy hei lying around. Will it work? Or do i have to stay in the buick family. buickwyrm 04-04-2004, 03:28 AM This is somethig I have been thinking about this last week or so. I was wondering if I sould use a MSD or like after market, or what exactly (Some thing out of a newer GM was suggested), and how hard it is. Thanks for letting me but in. ;) malc 04-04-2004, 04:45 PM To Monte and Bkwyrm, There was a topic last year about MSD doing a dedicated nailhead distributor. I am sure if you contact them they should be able to help you. Best of luck, Malc malc 04-04-2004, 04:52 PM Pro-billet Ready to Run (ie no seperate module needed) Nailhead distributor PN 8524 see your msd dealer or go to msdignitions.com Malc |
