A company called Bulldog Performance is advertising soon to be released Big-Block Buick heads with 2.19" inlet valves, and claim over 300cfm for their prototypes. Whilst I would be perfectly happy with TA Performance parts (on the basis that they have proven history!), these may prove to be a viable alternative source for race heads.

Bulldog Performance is also casting the new iron big block Buick engine. It should be able to withstand 1800 hp, and be stroked and bored to a 573. The block should be in production currently. The heads should be a very viable alternative to TA's.

bulldog?

i'd heard that PAE Enterprises (http://www.paeenterprises.com/paeframe.html) was the one doing it. they're also supposed to be working on an aluminum block.

are they associated with Bulldog or do we have multiple foundries working on this at the same time?

also, is bulldog going to cast this as a 2 bolt main or are they going to upgrade to the experimental 4 bolt main that buick made 2 castings of?

cool, so it's the 4 bolt main block they're working on. i figured it had to be if it was going to push 1000+ hp.

I think the block has a design where the mains bolt from the sides and down from the top like the Mopars. I may have recalled incorrectly so do not take this as fact.
