My dad is wanting to sell a 455 Buick, whats it worth?
head number 1231786-stage one (I think) 455 block, pistons, rods crank. Motor was rebuilt awhile back, no ridge at the top of the cylnders, I don't think the motor was ever cranked. Gaskets were all brand new when we pulled the heads off. Iron intake, edelbrock cast alluminum valve covers. Hooker competition headers with removable tube, big tubes, there is a little rust on the headers. Motor is complete except carb.
the heads are complete -valves, springs, all the rocker assembly
the block is a 74-76 block, We do have a distributer for it also. We also have a extra crank, standered, Rods, heads-74-76 heads. What would be a good price for everything?? should he break it up to sell it?

A disassembled 455 like that will probably bring you $300 or so, and maybe another $150 for the used headers.

Unfortunately buying a used 455 often comes with the assumption that the motor will have to be rebuilt.

How did you get brand new gaskets when an engine is disassembled? Or did the "look like new"?
