Installed exhaust/intake gaskets on Harley Earle, and in the process put the accelerator spring some place special so I wouldn't lose it, and of course I can't remember where that is.

Meantime I rigged a short bungy cord from the accelerator linkage to a wire clamp on the fender, which works nearly as well.

Sunday Dee and I went out for a ride along the beach. We stopped at a small shopping center, and small knot of men came over to look and ask questions.

The youngest one asked "Whatcha got under the hood?" and I replied . . . . .

"A rubber band" . . . . .

I had a similar experience some years ago. I stopped with a friend to see a buddy in Florida and asked if he still had his Modet "T" He said yes,and backed it out of the shed. My friend said to him "that would be a great car if it had a V8 in it" My Buddy with a perfectly straight face said "It does have a V8 under the hood" He opened the hood and hanging from the hood support rod was a V8 juice can. He had heard the ststement so many times, he did this just to shut them up. I thought it was "COOL"

I knew a guy who used a rubber in place of a broken carburetor spring. Sorry had to add that in... smile.gif

Just bye one from cars inc @ www.oldbuickparts.com (http://www.oldbuickparts.com) they will have it. If not go to ur local parts store and buy a universal spring for it.. i liked that one better than the one i bought from cars, i could adjust it so the pedal would feel alot more springy and tuff. V-8 can lmfao hell yeah thats funny lmfao
