I am having trouble locating the sending unit for the temperature guage on the engine block. Its a '52 special with a staight 8. Where should I look?

I think I have a extra, I bought that's new if you continue to have a problem finding one I can check a few places for you or let my spare go. ~T~ Jyrki 12-23-2005, 04:34 PM The "sending unit" is located on the head, adjacent to the #8 spark plug. It's actually a capillary tube system and is paired with the gauge. The tube is filled with gas or a liquid, expanding as a function of heat. Once the tube is ruptured, it's gone. And yes, it is rather expensive to repair. |
