Just bought a 87 LeSabre. Running good, new oil sparks, belts etc, etc, but the "service engine" light comes on frequently. Understand that the "information center" should give me an indication what's wrong.
How do I activate this one, and what's the codes? (Am running on unleaded fuel, nothing else available here).
Also, the el. cooling fan is running constantly, (ignition on, it's running). Could anyone tell me where the temp. switch is located on the engine?

The fan is controlled by the ECM- either when the engine temp gets too hot, or when the A/C compressor comes on (including the defroster). It's possible that a relay is stuck or something...

As far as the control center goes, I am not sure about the LeSabre, but on the Riviera you hold the "warm" and "off" buttons on the climate control simultaneously (for 5 seconds, I think). Not positive on that for the LeSabre, but it's worth a try.
