Can anyone help me find the towing capacities for the 91-93 and 94-96 Roadmaster Estate Wagons? I need to tow 4000# pop-up camper and don't want to buy an SUV. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bet it will pull it ok, but you probably ought to put on a transmission cooler before you do it. Otherwise, it will probably burn it up. Also, you should have a good hitch installed. It may make the rear end drag. If I have 2 people in the back of my Lesabre, it is only about 6 inches off the ground. It creates some problems when going up some drive ways. bf2knight 07-01-2003, 08:33 PM Yes, it's quite large. It's a Coleman Bayside. When loaded with cargo, etc, it approaches the 4000# mark. I really want to avoid an SUV..I've even considered a 76 Estate wagon with 455 CID...That would tow a house !!! But the 93-96 Roadmaster Estate is a bit easier to find and that's why I'm really interested in the towing capacity. I plan on getting a weight distributing hitch with sway control (the trailer has electric brakes) and was planning on installing a transmission cooler anyway. There is always the possibility of rear air shocks. graemlins/shield.gif |
