Hello,
I need to know the firing order of a 1988 Buick Regal 2.8l V6. I also need to know which spark plug is connected to which ignition coil. I can't find this info anywhere. I looked at a service manual but they didn't have a diagram for my particular vehicle. Thanks so much.

The firing order is always found on top of the engine, if I'm not mistaken it should be 123456
as for "what spark plug is connected to what coil"
this you should clarify because I have no idea what you are talking about. there is only one coil in the car!
If you mean what wire goes where, well the distributor has the numbers embossed on it.

No there are 3 coils on the car - starting in '88 GM used the DIS ignition system with a coil module (controller) and 3 ignition coils to fire plus in 2 cylinders each.
But I don't know the firing order. Try switching the wires around...there must only be hundreds of combinations smile.gif

Firing order is 123456.

1 and 4 share a coil
2 and 5 share a coil
3 and 6 share a coil

I'm thinking the "odd" cylinders are towards the firewall, the "even" cylinders are towards the radiator. Start counting from the passenger side.

(firewall)
135
246
(radiator)
