Hey guys, new to the board so forgive me if i am in the wrong place here.

I have a 72 455 that has been leaking a LOT of oil out the back somewhere? It pours out when the rig is inclined. Thinking it was a rear main seal i drained and removed the pan and found several large (penny size) pieces of metal lying in the bottom of my oil pan? The material is thin and a dull silver in color and is also non-magnetic. I looked at all the main bearings which were fine. Do you think this is bearing material? If it were a bearing wouldn't i be loosing oil pressure? I still have good oil pressure and the engine is not making any bad noises. I looked eveything over pretty good from underneath and do not see anything that jumps out at me. Any help would sure be appreciated; thank you in advance fro your help.

Thanks for the help guys,

I found one of my cam bearings coming apart; I could see a small piece of babbit working its way out mid motor. Looks like it is time for a rebuild. Going to try to change the bearings/cam myself. Any recomendation on cams? This motor is in a custom built CJ-7 rock crawler. It sees mostly slow/low rpm driving (4 wheel drive, low range) while on the trails. Once in a while I take it into the snow and blast around and I do play in the sand from time to time.

Once again, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
