Hi, im new on here
I have a 1970 Buick Skylark 350 I think its a custom.. (not GS or GSX) anyways, I bought a rebuilt Buick Electra 225, 455 engine and a 400 turbo transmission for it, will it fit my skylark? also it looks like the turbo 400 trans is too long and wont fit, what can i do? if i have the shaft shortened and cut and welded back on will that work or no? will it hold up? i asked a mechanic and he said that it will work, please give me info on what i can do

They make a long and short TH-400 ,and the Electra has the long one. Any GOOD transmission shop can install the short tail on your trans, or even swap . The GS uses a 455 and the short 400, and all you need are new engine mounts and a TH-400 yoke for the drive shaft

thank you for your help, so i will be able to use my trans the trans that i have, and just have a shop install a short tail on it?
