I have a 1978 Electra 225 with a 400 Tranny can anyone tell me what color the plastic gear is for that car to control the speedometer??? With someone rolling next to me on the hiway my speedometer is about 20 miles slower than I am actually traveling. Which explains getting pulled over for going 82 in a 65!!!

Your local GM dealer parts department will have a chart that shows the correct drive gear and driven gear combination based on tire size and rear gear ratio. You will need that information to get the right gear. The gears have been the same for most GM products for a long time, I have never had a problem getting them.
