What play do you mean? Body roll? Loose components clunking around?

I know what you are talking about Buickman!
I have the same problem with my Skylark too. (even wrecked one because of it)
Now I have to figure out how to get that rear a bit stiffer.

1) Install gas shocks.

2) Install rear anti swaybar; if you don't already have one.

3) Install new station wagon rear springs.

4) Check all rubber suspension bushings for wear and replace as required; side for side in pairs.

I think the rear sway bar is the best answere to the problem :D

PST suspension systems has really nice rear and front sway bar kits. They come with thicker sway bars, urethane/teflon bushings and sturdy links.
They advertise all the time in Car craft magazine or you can find them on the web.

the problem with older cars obviously is that they're heavy and built to have a high ride height, if you seriously want to control body roll you should look into a lowering kit. I'm not talking about slamming the thing to the ground like a rice burner, but dropping an inch or 2 will dramatically improve the handling of the car, stiffen up the suspension and you may even like the look of it.

Well I have load leveler gas shocks on the rear and station wagon springs already I hear they have a stabilzer bar that is made for the new roadmasters to prevent rear body roll that fit right on the older full size buicks. Has andbody heard of them?? graemlins/shield.gif

Check out applications for full size Pontiac, Olds, and Chev. They will probably interchange.
