View Full Version : Land Rover engine in a Buick Special??

Hello everyone!

I've got a "has anyone ever done this" question for the tech gurus out there.

I have a chance to pick up a complete land rover 3.9 V8 engine pretty cheaply and, at the same time, have a Buick Special project car with a tired 215. I've always heard that these are essentially the same engines. What problems would I encounter putting the land cruiser engine into the special? (mated to a dual path transmission.) Is this a doable swap?

Regards,

Chris

Should be a straight forward swap, but check out the bolt pattern on the trans. There are other experts on this site, that can help you more. Check the archives, graemlins/beers.gif

Well, I've perused the archives and didn't really find much. If there any experts out there who have made such a swap, please drop me an email at rorrer@trificient.net. I could use the advice!

Thanks and regards,

Chris
