Hi! Engine in my 1955 Century is almost worn out I suppose, compression is low, hard to start when sitting for more than a day or two,oil pressure is sinking while engine is getting warm, crankcase ventilation blows out lots of oil mist and so on. To get the car running a few years ago I rebuilt oil pump and installed an external oil cooler, also replaced lifters and push rods when cleaning out as much as possible of the dirt and stuff that stopped oil from reaching the valve train. Next winter I´m planning on rebuilding the engine,my question is: Are parts available in the U.S.A. and at what price? Here in Sweden it´s hard to get an answer from those firms importing parts from the States. I would need for example rod and main bearings, gaskets for whole engine, piston rings, timing chain set, possibly new or rebuilt oil pump etc. Are there new or rebuilt fuel/vaccuum pumps for sale?
Thanks!!

Kanter has the parts you need try www.kanter.com (http://www.kanter.com) . I think you can find things cheaper (Egg?) though.

TERRILL MACHINE INC. 1008 County rd 454 De Leon, TX 76444 (254) 893-2610

I paid about $500 for the full kit for my 1950 248 straight 8. I'm not sure if he goes up to 55 but it'd be worth a try.

Terrill does stock '55 parts,I purchased new everything for my 264 back in September. I hope to pick up my engine from the machinist tomorrow.I even ordered new motor mounts, new rocker arms, new valve springs, etc.Since this is my first rebuild,I decided to replace EVERYTHING.Total cost of parts was $1530.00.
