How do you go about setting the timing on a 6 volt system. All the timing lights i see are for 12 volts?

My light works on both. It is an old Sun with the bakelite case. You might try your light and see if 6 volts will trigger it

If it doesn't, the way I do it is I use a 12 volt battery to power the light, and then just clip the pickup onto the car.
