Have a chance for a 51 45R for a parts car and am wondering how interchangable parts such as interior parts,brakes,wiring,and door mechanisms are ?? I have a 53 45R car now. It is a buick special graemlins/beers.gif

Glen - I know that parts from a '53 Super are not interchangeable with a '53 Special. My brother ended with his '53 Special because it was a "failed" parts car for the '53 Super. I know the hood and chrome would not swap.

My guess would be that if you look up the parts in a catalog like New Old Stock, etc. and they are in the same year-range, you're golden. That's how I would hedge my bets.

As far as wiring, I know my '54 is 12-volt, but I'm not sure about '53 and I'm betting that '51 is an 8-volt system.
