ok, was it just a flaw from the factory, bad design or what? When I want to open the driver's side door on my '71 skylark, it takes 3-4 forcefull pulls on the door handle just to get it open. I took my door panel off and the inner door handle part off and that shaft is like 1/4 worn down. I know that is from me having to forcefully open it, but what else can i do? would it be possible to get different guts to redo the whole system or what? let me know guys.

I think the aftermarket companies make replacements door hardware.
