73 GS Stage 1

I have 2 1973 Grand Sport Stage one cars, one a bench seat auto and the other buckets and a 4 speed. At least as far as I know...PLEASE tell me where to find out information on these cars!! The biggy is how many were built? What should I look for to be certain of what I have? Any help, direction, comments, whatever would be so greatly appreciated!
We can tell a lot about how the car was built by going over the numbers on the engine, transmission, body plate, rear end, and the protectoplate in the owner's manual. If you want, just pick one to get things rolling.
Most of the GS data sources stop at the 72 models as far as number built by transmission, seat type, etc. Will look around to see if these numbers are out there somewhere.
This site gives the overall production figures for the general model numbers in 73. Go to the home page, then click on the model year along the left side.
Here is a site to try that has good stuff on the later GS cars- www.hu.mtu.edu/~ddcronkh/ (http://www.hu.mtu.edu/~ddcronkh/)
Also the Sloan museum in Flint, MI may be able to verify the quantity built. Also, they probably can do a VIN workup on your car to see how it was originally ordered from the factory. Their site is www.buickgallery.com (http://www.buickgallery.com)
Numbers floating around on the other sites are 728 of the 73 GS455 Stage I cars were built. Somewhere betwen 7 and 85 1973 Stage I 4-speeds were produced.
