as far as generating funds... have you considered doing as the h.a.m.b. does? they have auctions where members post items, parts, memoribila, tools, ect. that they auction off to the higest bidder. the members then donate the proceeds to the web site.

That sound interesting. I wonder how many people would be interested enough to participate? How would shipping be delt with?

shipping can be left up to the generosity of the person donating the item for auction. if it's a couple old hot rod magazines, the donator may or may not choose to throw in shipping. however, if it's something like leftover fenders, the auction could clatify "plus shipping".

also, as far as participating, it isn't just a month long "pledge drive". just whenever someone has something to donate, they post it as an auction. a pin gets put in it so it remains in view, it seems to be win, win. everyone has some old "junk" around that is "gold " to someone else.
